Financial Aid

Financial aid is available in the form of fee fellowships, non-resident tuition fellowships, and teaching assistantships. In addition, a diversity fellowship, the Graduate Opportunity Fellowship (GOF), is awarded by the campus.

The Dance Graduate Admissions Packet includes a Teaching Assistant Application Form. Applicants are encouraged to apply for assistantships in areas such as dance technique, dance history and theory, Labanotation and Laban movement analysis, video, digital technology, critical issues, global perspectives, kinesiology and injury prevention, and costume. Students with experience in any of these areas are given special consideration. In 2008-09, the salary for a typical teaching assistantship in the Department of Dance was approximately $925.00 per month.

Graduate students are eligible to apply for thesis research funds from the Claire Trevor School of the Arts. In addition, graduate students occasionally receive travel funding to assist faculty on international projects.
