Financial Aid

Financial aid is available in the form of fellowships for fees and teaching assistantships. Diversity fellowships and fee fellowships for qualifying students are generally available in the first year only.

Graduate students are encouraged to apply for teaching assistantships in areas such as technique, video, history and theory, notation, critical issues, global perspectives, kinesiology, injury prevention, and costume. Students with experience in any of these areas are given special consideration. Additionally, various professors may provide opportunities for graduate research assistants. Teaching assistantships range from $200.00 to $1,000 per month.

Graduate student researchers frequently receive travel funding to assist faculty on international projects. Recent trips have included Paris, Berlin, New York, Prague, China, Colombia, Portugal, Russia, and Eastern Europe. Travel grants, scholarships, and research awards are available through competitive application. For more information visit the Office of Graduate Studies and Financial Aid and Scholarships page.
