In addition to your application to the Office of Graduate Studies,
please contact the UCI Dance
Department to request the dance department application and audition
package.
Applicants for admission to the dance graduate program must complete
the following:
- Submit application, transcripts, three
letters of recommendation and non-refundable application fee ($60 for U.S.
citizens - $80 for all other applicants), to the Department of Dance by
the recommended application deadline of January 15. Admission to the
dance graduate program is customarily for fall quarter
only.
- Hold a Bachelor or a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance or the equivalent.
Candidates must meet the minimum requirements for the B.A. degree from the
Irvine campus of the University of California (consult the UCI General Catalogue
for details).
- Prepare a three minute choreographed work to be
presented at the audition: a solo performed by the applicant and/or a
work for a small group on DVD or video/tape. Brief interviews with the
faculty will be conducted following the audition.
- Submit the internal dance department application
package which includes a brief research paper and proposals for creative
work.
- To be considered for Fellowships and
Teaching Assistantships, candidates must meet the January 15 application
deadline.
