UCI is located in fast-growing Orange County, near the Pacific Ocean between Los Angeles and San Diego. Our campus is five miles from beautiful Newport Beach, where some of our graduate students live during the school year.
We are five miles from the Orange County Performing Arts Center, which has a stellar dance series, regularly presenting such companies as the Royal Danish Ballet, Stuttgart Ballet, Merce Cunningham Dance Company, The Kirov Ballet, Nederlands Dans Theatre, New York City Balley, American Ballet Theatre, the Bolshoi Ballet, and other internationally renowned companies.
The Irvine Barclay Theatre, located on campus, offers an impressive contemporary dance series, presenting such companies as Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane, David Parsons, Mark Morris, Alvin Ailey, Eliot Feld Ballet, Compagnie Maguy Marin, Musicians and Dancers of Bali, Ballet Folklorico of Chile, Lar Lubovitch, Paul Taylor, and others.
