Improvisation Research - Improvisation with Musicians

Back to Improvisation Research Overview

I have been using improvisation as an approach to choreogrpahy and working with composers, musicians and other artistis for over 15 years. Improvisation is the source from which "accidents" may become creative reality.

The black and white images below were taken in 1993 when I was directing the New York University Composers Ensemble in a "Movement for Musicians Workshop".

Below is image of Beate-Gabriella Schmidt and Tomas Seeling from Berlin, Germany visiting UC, Irvine as guest artists and working with selected students for a music and dance improvisation performance in the Gassman Music Series. See also Colorcatcher
