a
dance about knowing and scrounging for details
|
|
Lady in Waiting is dedicated to all women who are looking
for their mother, grandmother, daughter, sister or other significant
person; someone who is with you all the time, but not physically
present. It is a dance about knowing and scrounging for details--photos,
scarves, dresses, journals. These details fill a shrine, a place
to dance stories and create new memories. A memory with a face is
easier to hold; I do the dance to help remember.... each step is
a new shape, part of the rhythm and the story of all those who wait
here and now.
