Split is are part of a trilogy (see also Portal and Invisible Walls) that involve digital image processing techniques and live performance. This dance trilogy was created in 2000 and exlores the use of a new type of shot to the grammer of film / vide. This is the processing shot to create moving picture material that is may or may not be derived from the camera and editing shots. The resulting imagergy enables the evolution of a new visual and aesthetic flow and transformation which may be more closely related to the spatial and temporal continuum of dance. Projecting this imagery as part of a dance opens up new possibilities for integrating images with performance.
