Molly Lynch Receives Arts Visionary Award for 2017

Molly Lynch, Associate Professor of Dance was the Helen Modjeska Cultural Legacy Award recipient of the Arts Visionary Award for 2017. This is a lifetime achievement award nominated by the arts community and awarded by the Arts OC Board. It was awarded in recognition of Molly's personal achievements as one of Orange County’s leading artistic visionaries. Awarded at the 18th Annual OC Arts Awards on October 17, 2017.

FADA (Film-Arts-Drama Alliance) club produces "Zot Zot Land" to celebrate the Arts at UCI

Arts students from University of California, Irvine came together to put their spin on La La Land's "Another Day of Sun!" 80+ students and mentors were involved in the film project that included newly recorded instrumentals, vocals, lyrics, along with new choreography.  The film was produced by the Film-Arts-Drama-Alliance (FADA) at UCI specifically for the 18th annual Zotfest film festival at UCI.  The team wanted to create a "Soft Opening" film that would unite the students together for one large project. UCI Claire Trevor School of the Arts Student Receives Inaugural ASTAIREAWARDS™ Scholarship and Award

The Department of Dance Names Jill Oates the First Recipient

Irvine, Calif., Feb. 17, 2017 – The Fred Astaire Scholarship Fund has donated to the University of California, Irvine Department of Dance an endowment for the ASTAIREAWARDS™ scholarships and awards for excellence in dance, choreography, and music. Third-year dance student Jill Oates has been named the inaugural recipient and will be awarded the annual ASTAIREAWARDS™ scholarship and award at a reception for the upcoming “Dance Visions 2017” at the Irvine Barclay Theatre on Thursday, February 23, 2017.
